Definition
A chart released four times a year showing where each Fed official expects interest rates to be at the end of the coming years.
The story
Each dot is one official's estimate. In September 2026, 16 of the 18 who answered expected another hike in 2026, up from 6 in June. Nobody voted on anything, but the dots told markets the mood had shifted.
Why markets watch it
Markets compare the dots with their own rate expectations.
