Definition
The stretch of time each candle or bar on a chart represents, such as 1 minute, 15 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day or 1 week.
The story
The same morning can look calm on a daily chart and wild on a 1-minute chart. A day trader might watch 5- and 15-minute charts, while a long-term investor might only look at weekly ones. Neither is wrong; they're answering different questions.
Why you'll see it
A level or a trend only means something alongside the timeframe it was drawn on.
